workshop

the “gambiarra caligráfica” project was developed in 2013, with the desire to find alternative ways to do calligraphy. it is a workshop that proposes the construction of a handmade calligraphic tool for the practice of the fundamental alphabet and expressive exercises. since calligraphy supposes a rigorous pattern, movement and letter construction, it is essential here, in this moment of subversion, to take the risk. improvisation as a path and route. the act of building the tool creates a broader view of the process and an awareness of what you want to practice. it is the non-limitation of things and the different possibilities that that tool can offer. it is to declare the tool as part of itself, to reach the whole.
